Lien is a college student from overseas and works part-time at Ahnenerbe. Although her appearance suggests that she's a solitary and quiet young woman, anyone who spends more than an hour with her will quickly realize that she has unbelievable audacity and the tendency to say rather outrageous things whether out of humor or spite. Regardless of these strange qualities, Lien is quite friendly, although she keeps most people at arm's length due to how her past has shaped her.

The truth about her past is that she was a literal nobody; an orphan who somehow had the misfortune to join other unwanted children as guinea pigs for a criminal magus's experiments. He was a man fascinated with Mystic Eyes, trying to find the pair that would be connected to the Root. Lien does not remember the portion of her life where she was merely an object to this magus. What she does know is that the Mage's Association eventually caught and imprisoned him and she discovered that she had a form of Mystic Eyes that the magus had awoken within her. By activating prana and physically touching an object or a person, the memories inherent within them is reflected back to her and thus Lien is able to "see" them.

She has one known relation, an identical twin named Ai Thao Kha who also suffered under the same magus. They keep in contact, but their shared past and differing views causes them to be distant because they do not want to ponder over what was done. Lien also believes her sister has a better chance of living as a full human being compared to her.

She was given a pair of enchanted gloves that cut off the flow of prana by a charitable magus who was intrigued by her Mystic Eyes of Reflection, but helped her get back on her feet so she could live a normal life undisturbed by magical matters.

Lien's silly and energetic characteristics may be something of a construct to make up for the lost years of her life; her impudence is a way she tries to build an existence. She used her Eyes in order to educate herself about the world and fill herself with knowledge. Knowledge is nothing without wisdom, something she certainly feels a lack of as her only philosophy so far is to be a decent person and not disturb anyone. She could be described as a glass cup that is barely half-full.

☼ LANCER (CU CHULAINN)

These two met during a dark and rainy evening. We can only hazard a guess as to how the conversation led to Lien and Cu Chulainn making a pact, but what's done is done.

The first few days of their partnership was apprehensive to say the least; Lien, who had not been engaged in magi matters for a long while found herself having to make heads and tails of a powerful spirit and what it meant to have him in her life. Long story short, she was in a position where she couldn't be alone and it slowly began to change her. Since Lien isn't familiar with the legend of Cu Chulainn she's judged him solely by how he acts and how he treats her. She's surprised with how easily she can converse with Lancer, most likely due to his own laid back attitude. As a result, her audacious nature reveals itself more easily than usual, creating a unique rapport with the Servant.
