"She's a good kid. Seriously naive though and it makes me wonder what sort of upbringing she's had. I think Xion is probably one of my closest female friends. I can't talk to her about everything, but I can talk to her about a lot of things that you can't really bring up with guys. There's probably more to her than meets the eye-- just a feeling I got when I first met her.

Sometimes I get the feeling that she's SO innocent that our conversations take a turn for the worse, at least on my end. I probably should watch my mouth around her, I feel bad for trying to be humorously crude. She's adorable and I hope she and her boyfriend can be happy here because I think she's someone who definitely deserves it."

Lien really, really, likes Xion basically, but sometimes feels like a jerk for sounding like a smartass and having her words fly over Xion's head. And it seems too damn awkward for her to talk about anything ADULT ~~that only makes her feel like a bigger ass around her~~. But she really admires her sincerity and earnest nature. She feels like a big sister towards Xion and definitely would stand up for her or help her out if it comes down to it.

"I met Kakashi back when a bunch of us were kidnapped for the fighting tournament. Not a lot of opportunity to talk back there, but he kept pretty calm during the whole thing. Naruto says that this guy is his sensei. He looks so relaxed for someone who's trained a super-ninja-boy. Pretty nice and decent guy probably although I caught him in a... Compromising situation. No one's ever been able to see what's under the mask. And now that task is up to ME. Yeah, Naruto asked me if I could try and check the mask.

Status report: The direct approach didn't work. Overall, I wouldn't mind talking to him some more."

Lien thinks Kakashi is pretty cool and she is curious to see what's under the mask like everyone else... She hasn't talked to him enough to make a real assessment on his character.

After the incident with Sex!Bombed Renji though, Lien thinks it's fun to tease/make fun of him. It's all friendly!

"The only guy I've met so far that flirted with me over text during our first encounter (but for good reason as I found out recently-- the texting, not the flirting). But he actually knows a lot of bands and songs that I like, the ones I listened to with Jonah! It's like an inch closer to home in the good ol' U.S.A. That's an automatic A+ in my book.

Still... He's got a ton of baggage on him though. Probably forced to do things he didn't want and it's taken him a while to even rest well. I have to give him credit though, he's strong; that's my impression anyways. And I bet he's got a way with girls even without being able to use his voice. Shameful habit, almost effective even on me of all people.

I wish I could do something more for him, but I'm not a miracle worker. I'll listen to what he has to say though."

Oh, R.J. He's got Lien curious about him and concerned for his well-being. Their last conversation has made Lien question herself about why she tries so hard to be helpful if it's not going to do much for the person on the other end. She'll definitely keep talking to him and wants to meet him face to face in ACTION.

She'll never admit it, but the flirting actually did embarrass/flatter her even if she put up a resistant front.

Well. It's SHERLOCK HOLMES. I never imagined I'd get to meet the sleuthing legend, much less a modern version of him. Or even become well acquainted with him. I definitely admire and look up to him and his methods, but don't get me wrong. He's hard to deal with personality-wise at times, but I think getting to know him is rewarding in the end. Well, that's just how I feel. Sherlock's a [high functioning] sociopath and the only one I think he specially cares about is Watson. He knows a few things about me though and I don't feel too uncomfortable about confiding in him about other stuff I usually don't talk about.

I've spent a lot of time with him over the past few months. Solved a mystery, played Connect Four, Christmas dinner, a bunch of other things... It's those small things I get to do with him that makes me think of him as a good friend even if he's a total weirdo and of course brilliant. And he DID visit me when I was in the hospital. That surprised me.

He's aggravating sometimes, but I think that just comes along with being Sherlock and him talking to a weird kid like me. And... Ah, this is embarrassing, but I care about him. If he ever needs a favor, I might do it without question."

While they do have their silly snark-offs and very mild clashes, Lien really likes Sherlock and is happy to get to know him beyond the brilliant detective that he is. He's feels like family, if only slightly so far. It's fun to throw sarcastic comments back and forth with him and she's super happy she got to solve a mystery with, well, Sherlock Holmes. Hell, she looks up to him and she loves talking to him whenever she can. To be honest, Lien feels like she can't get too personable with him unlike Victorian!Holmes though and tries to hold back on being too emotional towards him since he just wouldn't 'get it'. His company, however, is always welcome. He's like that weird uncle who you don't want to live with ever, but nonetheless perfectly content spending time with.

"I haven't told him about the stuff I'm usually uncomfortable with, but it's coming to a point where I wouldn't mind. Ritsuka is someone I feel like I can trust completely. I probably already do already. Man, he's so much more mature than me, but I'm not gonna lie, he's absolutely adorable. It's not just the cat ears and tail though. He's also really sincere in his own way and I like how he treasures important things like memories. I totally could see him as my little brother.

There's... A few things I've noticed about him though. The way he acts, the way he talks about his family and the memories he's lost makes me feel uneasy. The more I think about it, the more I feel this aching pain inside for him. I don't want to push anymore than I should, but I want to help him find what was lost too.

I don't ever want to hurt him. I'll treasure him for as long as I can."

Ritsuka is one of the few people Lien really, really, REALLY adores. There's just something about him that immediately drew her to him and awaken something akin to maternal instinct in her. Weird. She wishes she could express more affection for him without making him uncomfortable, but she is respectful so, yeah. :( She likes taking care of him and talking to him about her memories and what she did. Lien feels comfortable around Ritsuka since she thinks he won't judge her too much.

So she basically really, really likes him >w<

"He's not bad, but he's kind of an ass. Still, not bad! Badou seems to pop up in places where I least expect him and at least I can look forward to an interesting conversation when he does. He gets my pop culture references at least! I think he's been here longer than I have? Still kind of a mystery, not one I have to unravel yet.

I bet I'd argue with him a lot, but I wouldn't mind his company. I don't think he's the kind of person Jonah would want me hanging out with though."

Lien doesn't know too much about Badou, but doesn't mind him even if their last conversation went into a weird direction. She hasn't sought him out since she has no reason to, but she's willing to chat with him almost anytime. Fun fact: the way he talks sort of reminds her of her guardian Jonah.

"I don't know too much about Minato, but he's nice enough. He was a co-worker during this one job I had and we discussed the woes of odd customers.

He's got some cool charisma to him I think."

Lien hasn't had any in-depth conversations with Minato, but even she can tell that he's cool. Despite that, her interest in developing a friendship with him hasn't been piqued, but she likes him well enough.

"Frustrating. Clinically insane probably. Mental. One of the few people I think that needs an automatic punch to the face. But... I don't hate him or dislike Katsura. He WAS trying to help out Shinpachi when people thought I was his love interest or something, but yeah that turned out not-so-well.

I don't know too much about him, but either way I know anything that involves him will probably end up having my mind rolling around in confusion. I haven't talked to him lately and I wouldn't mind as long as I can retain some of MY sanity."

SHE WILL PUNCH HIM IN THE FACE ONE DAY. Otherwise, she thinks Katsura is okay and knows that he tries to do things with good intentions. He just does them stupidly.

"Kaoru's a nice guy to say the least. He's got that playful streak to him as well, not unlike me. Having fun and amusing ourselves is something we have in common. I should talk to him more, but I don't really know if he'd be able to understand the stuff I think about and go through. Maybe I don't want him to deal with my baggage until I trust him more.

Kinda cute."

Yeah, Lien thinks Kaoru is cute and a fun guy, but beyond that she hasn't really expressed anything deeper or personal about herself towards him even if she wants to be better friends. She's unsure if that's a good move at all really, she likes that they're nice to each other and bringing up her issues is something she doesn't want to do for now.

RELATIONSHIP UPGRADE! Lien considers Kaoru a really good friend especially since he's recently the only one she's confided in about a set of matters which are completely different from what she usually chats about with her other friends. She partly chose to talk about her ~*feelings*~ with Kaoru randomly because... He was just there. And it really was a case of 'why the hell not?' But his replies to her were surprisingly comforting and she was even more surprised to learn that Kaoru has had his own love troubles. The more you know! After that particular conversation Lien feels like she should invest more time in getting to know Kaoru more and probably become better friends.

"The more classical Holmes one might be more familiar with. What can I say? Holmes knows more about me than most people I've met. That includes me being a clone, some of the bad stuff I've done in the past, about the esper community back home... He seems more receptive towards what I have to say compared to Sherlock. Or at least he doesn't mind me showing sides of myself even if he's equally lacking in the social department. I almost feel like I have another Jonah to talk to, but he's not a replacement. Holmes is someone new and talking to him is making me realize I need to trust people more before they have to trust me.

No less brilliant and I look up to him. He's obviously got good advice for investigating that I'm trying to follow. Sure can be a smug bastard when he wants to be, but I don't mind. Still, I gotta keep him on his toes, can't always stand on that high stool.

I'm really glad I met him."

Holmes is pretty much the person Lien does feel closest to based on the fact that he knows more about her past than everyone else. She has a certain trust in him that's... Kind of hard to explain, but thinks she can count on him more than most people. And like she says, talking to him is making her realize that that she is more distrustful of others than she gives herself credit for. It makes her want to improve in that aspect. Yeah. Holmes did that.

"We had the worst friendly date ever, but at least it was for a good reason. I think. (Note to self: Never talk to anyone about any possible love interests on this ship ever again.) The blondest ninja one has ever seen. Literally and metaphorically. I'm not afraid to show my affection for him, he's just sort of awesome like that. He's one of those 'hero' types... An idiot, but somehow he gets the job done and sticking to his ideals (it probably helps with all those ninja skills he's got on hand. (How many skills does he have on hand anyways!?) He's helped me and Shinpachi out in a tight place before and somehow I know he'd do it again. I feel more encouraged whenever I talk to him when I'm down. Naruto can be a spaz though, easy to tease.

Naruto is a friend who makes me feel like I should never give up in anything.

Now that I think about it, Naruto is the only one Lien shows outward affection towards. Probably because he's so friendly and Lien does feel at ease around him. His shounen protagonist powers does make her feel more happy and encouraged like she should BELIEVE IT. She DOES have an inkling that there's something unnatural inside him, but she doesn't feel like probing into his background and likes their friendship as it is. But that doesn't mean she isn't open to the possibility about knowing more things about him.

"Ahhhhhhh. Aw, man. I first met him while he was working as a masseuse. Really nice and pleasant and all that. He seems to get stuck into doing things he doesn't like. I got to talk to him some more and I found out he's not a very happy person at least inwardly and that worries me. When I took a walk on the beach with him it seemed like he didn't mind my company. He did say he was happy doing that simple thing with me and-- oh, god I'm rambling. Still, I can talk to him easily and it's... Nice.

Like I said, I worry about him. I'm glad I can be someone he doesn't mind spending time with as a friend though. I hope we can continue to be friends and do fun things so he can feel better. I think he deserves to be happy.

Whoo, boy. Yeah, pretty much what Lien said above. The implication of her last sentence and the swirly heart symbol though? We're talking about a VERY mild affection/crush for Hakkai. Thankfully, she is good at destroying her own hopes and dreams and hiding such things ~~mostly~~ :D So yeah, she's realistic about it and is instead focusing on making sure Hakkai can have a reason to be genuinely content even though he's been through so much crap she doesn't know about. She probably feels a tad bit nervous around him-- probably her sixth sense talking or just her gut feeling. But overall, she really is happy to be considered a friend by him.

I still am actually... I thought everything was going to be okay. Nothing bad could possibly happen. But, I guess that's what I get for being TOO optimistic.

But it's not his fault. I still want him to be my friend and I knew it would hurt too much if I tried to distance myself. I can't DO that anymore, not like how they told me to do back home even if it really hurts. I hope nothing else bad happens because... Dammit. Thankfully, he still doesn't mind. He's still my friend.

FEEEEEELLLIIIIIIIIIIIIINGS. Okay so, Hakkai DID hurt Lien, but that was because of faulty perfume, bad timing, and bad luck! Still, it SCARED her
a lot more than she lets on, but she also doesn't want to stop being Hakkai's friend. Actually, that fact in itself is what's frightening to her. Lien realizes she's beginning to change-- getting more attached to the friends she makes on the S.S. Thor, wanting to HAVE more than just friends-- and if she ever lost any of them or if any of them hurt/betrayed her intentionally, she realizes she wouldn't know what to do. She also had to fight back Hakkai using her powers, but that only hurt him (for a good reason of course) and that is something she hated herself for. But for now things have settled down and Lien's already patched things up with Hakkai. She's more wary than before, but she'll keep chugging along and hopefully get to know Hakkai better.

Okay. So. Um.

I'm not sure what to say about her. I don't dislike her, but I feel uncomfortable around her. She seems to have the idea that we're similar and that only makes me feel even more uneasy. GAH. She doesn't know I'm a psychic yet, but she knows about me being friends with Holmes. She's not bad to talk to, I just don't know how I should act around her.

At least I can hope she treats John nicely. The life of adults sure is strange.

Lien is very IDK about Irene. She feels like she needs to one up her for no particular reason other than to prove herself? She's so UNSURE. Probably realizes how awesome of a femme fatale Irene is and how... Immature she is in comparison. Inferiority issues I suppose.

I don't know how to get through to him. I just... Why doesn't he realize he doesn't HAVE to make mistakes? It's not the only way and... Dammit,just thinking about what he did makes me SO unreasonably angry, I don't feel like I can be calm even though I try so hard to. He's not incapable of being good. He knows how to love someone, how to care and want to protect what's important. I can see this! But then he just twists it up all wrong and I don't know why. It's just all so wrong.

Lien's usually pretty neutral even with people she gets annoyed with or highly dislikes, but Kiriko... Gah. She wasn't really happy when she found out what he did to Polly and even less happy when she could read that momentary thought about hurting her. Being in contact with him is bringing out her offensive/defensive side that lashes out when in danger. And let's just say she... Can be brutal when forced to. Which hopefully will not come to pass ahaha. She doesn't want to hate him, but it's hard.
